ok, long story short, no money to drink so i read all 51 pages of Rick's resto thread. (it took me since 8:45  )

but, i've realised something and its completly changed my outlook. what gives us the right to slag off each others cars and day bad things about them. before i read the thread rick had another mk1 escort, bubble arches and it was orange and had a black stripe. bubbles and orange aren't my taste, but after the work thats gone into it how the hell can anyone have a bad word against it (not that they do, but you know what i mean) and sorry for using rick as an example but its in my head, not much room for other stuff if i keep it bottled up

i dont think i'll ever look at anyones car the same, even my own. its inspiring :thumbsup: and i'll tell all the haters when i'm at shows, th ones who lean in to an engine bay, sniff and then say "that shouldn't be lik that" to their dribbling mate

:ykt: Its your car you like it you put in the hard work to get it there, sod what anyone else thinks, its how you want it to be. Thats my attitude to my cars and thats how i look at other peoples. ok it might not be to my taste but if somebody has put in the hard work and created a car they like then fair play to them. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of it. we are all differant with differant opinions of how things should be. Thats what makes the world a more interesting place to be :wink:8)

And yes i have had a few :beer::beer::beer:

a penny-drop moment ;)

That's why we're here on OSF and not with some stuck-up, snotty 'that's not original' club.

I love it here :D :D

who's to say whats right or wrong.....

good or bad, it's up to the owner of the car

if everyone did the same thing to their cars

what a boring world this would be!

somebody has to do a wild mod soon

that nobody else has dared to do +

they are either going to get slated

or told they are a genius.

I think if you don't keep a car standard you're an a-hole!

Nah....Only kidding

As I was putting the engine back together over the last 24 hours. I was thinking "2 litre..... 5 speed.....Hmmmmmm" And if I had the cash (and a garage would be nice, while I'm putting together a wish list :D ) I would.

You're bang on the money there. I used to struggle to comprehend the speed-strip ford mods out there, but once you've seen the result, you appreciate why it's being done then, more to the point, feel proud that OSFs are represented on te drag scene.

I think all off us rust-chasers who do our bit to keep motoring heritage alive and on the roads should respect the effort that each other makes. And that includes non-Ford folk, and even that guy with his yellow Mk1 on e-bay.
