jimbo Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 If you've gotta get em blasted in the end, surely it can't hurt to try a bit of Nitro mors on there first. That's a guestimation, not the voice of experience.
RUSTYPUP Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 Never tried to get it off before. Suspect it's a nightmare. Why not ring a powder coating shop and ask them? I don't think you will have much luck with paint stripper or blasting
60ftman Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 Deffo try Nitromors. It turns the powder coat crispy and makes it easier to scrape off.
petrolhead01 Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 attack it with 80 grit paper to break threw the surface then nitromors will soften it up making it scrapeble, not the quickest gob though!!or better still just get them acid dipped this will remove all the paint and crud but will cost you!! lastly you can blast powdercoat off but it takes longer than usual so be prepared to pay extra!! are you planning on repainting them if so just key them with 400 grit paper and paint over it ,,, powdercoat makes for a f-ing good primer
