Guest MK1gaz Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 Yes use something thick and sticky ( not custard ) like an oil treatment additive etc because most rebuilt engines don't actually drive a car for years and just sit there
Wessie Posted July 21, 2007 Author Report Posted July 21, 2007 not custard fook it, looks like im taking it apart then tomorow lol Yes use something thick and sticky ( not custard ) like an oil treatment additive etc because most rebuilt engines don't actually drive a car for years and just sit there cheers gaz, and dont worry its going into instant use, as soon as its running i've got to start running it in for sunday
orionmojo Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 dont you just boost the oil pump before you fire it? or at the very least turn it opver a few times without the plugs
James HPE Motorsport Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 dont you just boost the oil pump before you fire it? or at the very least turn it opver a few times without the plugs This is a good idea whatever you do but you should still lube up the bearings and rings with something that is not going to just run straight off! Id defo recommend Grafogen for lubing up the cam lobes, especially if its a new cam!
