fussy about steering

who else is fussy about the steering wheel being centralised correctlly

mine was just off so took it off and when refitted it was just off the other direction really winds me up so under i go and ajust the trackrod ends equally to aline the steering wheel

 

no wrong way first time

 

too far second time after about 10 tweeks and trips down the road fivers worth of fuel its all centralized and allined up :mrgreen:

ur not the only one tho m8 as a few people moan like fook if the steering wheel is out. tho like many people u dont drive down a straight road looking at the wheel to keep u straight. each to there own m8 and i think im talking :shit: now so im going :oops::mrgreen:

once i get it in my head that its annoying me its not straight it just niggles away so i had to do it :thumbsup:

thing is.... in the capri it used to change that much as it pulled one way when driving and when i put the breaks on it pulled the other way so i couldnt really chanege it :lol:

also £15 to have the tracking done propley

my trackings ok as it didnt rub tyres off thats why i ajusted both sides equally

 

plus if youve messed with suspension and steering the local garage wont beable to track your car correctly as they just use standard figures

don't agree with that, i'd accept it if you went to quick fit but tracking's not difficult to get the wheels pointing the right way, you can do it with a tape measure.

 

but yes, it proper pisses me off when the wheel's not central :twisted:

i fully agree with you and maybe near you garages are different but round here they aint got a clue about modded old cars :sad:
