2 gallons of water !

thats what i lost tonight drivin to edinburgh and back ! Three of us looking at it cant see where its going , The exhausts seem ok and with your hand over them they are dry as a bone .

 

Cant see any leaks underneath etc ... Im stumped . Car is running sweet as a nut !

 

Im changing the rad cap tommorrow and fitting a new thermostat etc

can you not put something in the water that would stain if it laked, i prsume your using antifreeze, that usually stains though doesn't it.

Have you checked the oil - does it look like snotty emulsion? or does it look normal?

I had a similar issue with mine Doc and it was the rad cap.

I bought a Stant one off RD for £20 and cured it

Just bought a jag 3.6 one from its expansion tank , thats a 16lb one so that may be it . When i looked at it last night it looked like the wrong one for the car ? A 2.8 one ....fingers crossed

what about the core plug in the back of the engine?could be sitting in the bell housing of the gearbox-had that before!

Hope not Now fitted a new rad cap and driven 10 miles ... fingers crossed
