Really hacked off with myself

I have now cut out and welded in place a new panel. The trouble is, i am no fabrications expert and i certainly am not a welder!

 

It looks absolutley poo and i am so annoyed with myself for doing such a bad job. I cant put pics up yet but even if i could i dont think i'd want to out of embarrasment.

 

The welds arent strong and look like a pigeon has shat all over the place.

 

I dont think this part is structural though cos the car has an anti-dive kit welded on which hopefull will give it the extra strength it needs??

 

Grrrrrrr, rant over and note to myself: dont ever, ever do any more welding.

On the contrary, the more you do the better you'll get.

either get an old snoter of a car to start practising on so u can weld the mk1 properly or find a mobile welder till u have the time to learn at least u had a go
