Anglias are there, cortina's are there, a 100E but no escorts!! There are some escorts that are eligible to run with these osf's but they just dont turn up. Grrr.
Retromotorsport Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 I was there too man! What i want to know is.. Why the hell arent there any escorts at these things??? Anglias are there, cortina's are there, a 100E but no escorts!! There are some escorts that are eligible to run with these osf's but they just dont turn up. Grrr. There not eligble ... pre 1966 cars only .. Classic Saloons and Historic Touring Cars Pre’66 Touring Cars are 4 seater saloon cars marketed before 1st January 1966. Eligible cars are those complying with these regulations or any vehicle complying with the FIA Appendix K regulations for the current year. the next in line is the Post Historic Touring Cars Post Historic Touring Cars are saloon cars marketed before 1st January 1974 of which more than 5,000 examples were manufactured in any 12 month period during the overall production run and/or were homologated by FIA for competition in Group One category for Production Cars. then the Classic Group One Touring Cars Group One Touring Cars are saloon cars marketed before 1st January 1983 of which more than 5000 examples were manufactured in any 12 month period during the overall production run and/or were homologated by the FIA for competition in Group One category for production cars prior to that date. And in the Post Historic Championship Class C in 2006 Steve Primett beat Jason Christie into second place .. both in Rs2000's , the field had mainly escorts with a few Dolomites and Firenza's .. Its all about the rules .. if you allowed Escorts in with Cortinas and anglias the escorts would walk it .. same as the Post historics class C .. thats for cars from 1600cc to 2500cc ... so the escorts have something to beat ( 2.3 Firenza's) In Classic Gp1 .. one of my customers Mark Fowler won class B in hisd Capri... and that class has loads of capris .. As for Escorts racing .. there was 2 Mk2's and 1 Mk1 in the DMN championship at Lydden on sunday, ask twinkle ... i think he and the family had a good day with us
