Supercharged Nat Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 how big is it? you could try an engine builders type place, or a machine shop. they should be able to have a go at welding the cast iron (make sure they actually do cast iron welding though, not just prepared to have a stabb at it!). there specialist people about but im not sure where or how much! welding cast iron is difficult but can be done well.
V8ian Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 Take it to a GOOD welders, any decent welding shop should be more than capable of repairing cast iron with dis-similar metal rods, depends on how ornate the piece may cause a problem with contraction/expansion stresses, and may need to be put in a normalising oven to prevent further breakage.
