Hi i have a problem i have removed the wings from my mk2 esky and where they are puddle welded to the inner wing is rotten so i have bought repair sections and i am not sure how they fit. Do they fit over the origanal rail or do i have to cut them out ???????????? thank

I would cut the old metal out and replace with fresh stuff, it will only encourage the rust to come back if you dont

dont wel over the old ones... thats the wrong way to do it

 

cut out the old ones (mark or remember exactly how they fit)

 

then weld in the new metal

If you're new to welding, have a practice on pieces of scrap metal before giving it a go on your new panels...

Thanks guys all sorted iv been welding for years as i am class one but packed it in to be a gas fitter i just didnt have a clue how to fit them thanks again

That looks spot on you have the same mig as me
