chrisd Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Hi i have a problem i have removed the wings from my mk2 esky and where they are puddle welded to the inner wing is rotten so i have bought repair sections and i am not sure how they fit. Do they fit over the origanal rail or do i have to cut them out ???????????? thank
Deano1351 Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 I would cut the old metal out and replace with fresh stuff, it will only encourage the rust to come back if you dont
Rick Posted November 24, 2007 Report Posted November 24, 2007 dont wel over the old ones... thats the wrong way to do it cut out the old ones (mark or remember exactly how they fit) then weld in the new metal
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted November 25, 2007 Report Posted November 25, 2007 If you're new to welding, have a practice on pieces of scrap metal before giving it a go on your new panels... Have a read of this site: http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/practical.htm

Twinkle Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 here are some i did on my mk1 this one from underneath probably shows the way they go best and some of my mk2 that i did with the wings in place!
