Lil update today-went for my mri scan. SCARY!!!

There's little room between the machine and your face when you're inside.

It was extremely loud too- they give you a set of headphones to listen to which was quite nice to block out the machine noise.

It's going to be a waiting game now for my op date. I've been told that it'll be no more than 18 weeks from today.

So the latest I'll be in hosp is the 10th april.

I have one more appointment at the other hosp to see my consultant on the 1st Feb.

I didn't want to tell many about the scan before it happened, because it would make me really really nervous!

Meh. Surgery's nowt to be scared of. Been in for 3 majors in my time, 2 because of a bike accident resulting in serious nerve damage. 10 months on and I'm still recovering, but daily life's pretty much back to normal.

Admittedly having your back done's a little more drastic than an arm, but still...

Where you having it done? I was at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Middlesex [just outside London].

Good luck an' all that. You'll be fine, no doubt.

It's the ghoing in head first that did me  i had to wait for an over 18stone MRI table to be deliverd  so it took 18 months to get the appointment through and even then it was in the back of a lorry trailer in the hospital carpark, looked like a porta loo from the outside

Mini update:

Mum left me a voicemail at work today. She'd received a date for my op from the hosp (18h Feb)

BUT...if you're on the pill, you must stop it at least 6 weeks before the op.

Well no-one told me this, otherwise I'd of come off it when I had my mri scan :evil::roll:

It just really fooked me off!

Now the earliest that I'll be going in is the 4th March, but I've gotta wait for them to give me another date

I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but I just want the op out the way.

I wanna be about for Ford Fair- seeing as I'm gonna miss CF show.
