got to change the front torsion ( or tie bar ) rubbers for the mot,

found out i can buy rubber or poly,

the poly ones are four times more expensive,

are they worth the extra or not?

how much longer do they last?

what are the positives of using poly ones?

also can someone put a pic up of what they look like : :?

I've been wondering about this too as i'm taking the struts and rack out of mine and debating whether its worth replacing it all with polybushes!

Also which ones? JMC motorsport do ones for mk1 escorts £89 for a complete set. Yet a set of superflex cost £200! Is this the same kit? Is there a difference? if so why such a cost difference!

They are a worthwhile replacement. They stiffen up the car's ride and handling. fit

I bought a set of Deflex bushes for my capri, and I ended up having to buy the Superflex ones because the Deflex one didn't fit  At lesat you'll know the Superflex bushes will fit first time

I ve heard people having problems with De-flex bushes like Pip said, but i ve got them on FOE, and had no problems fitting them at all.

its defo worth it"

as said it does tighten thigns up and hashen the ride a tad but youd be stupid not to do it!

i got the kit from JMC and it fitted fine!..they use polysport bushes i think.

obviously superflex are the best one out there but that reflects in the price!

If it's on the Mk5 deflex are fine (one of the few bushes the reproduce well enought to go straight on) standard are/where/should be poly not rubber anyway just a softer grade

If you go for poly they are thicker so you'll need to back off the rear nut or the caistor will be well out and steering will suffer :(

you will need to back the rear nut off a bit to allow for the thicker bush if you use deflex, not sure if superflex are thicker as well?

I had to replace the bushes where the anti-roll bar meets the TCAs for my Last MOT.

I used Superflex bushes because they are easier to fit. The old rubber style are a single piece, that need to be punched/pressed into place. the Superflex ones are two top-hats. Saved me a whole load of bother and worth it just for that alone!
