Tigran Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 I have a WIP 1975 Viva. The capri - which is an almost-runner. Hopefully will be a proper runner after tomorrow when her MOT is being done: Now: And my daily hack is a 2003 Focus So yeah that's me. *goes off to rest his mouse-clicking finger*
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Go On The Capri's I like the Viva & Focus as well!
Cookie Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 always quite fancied the viva, also have a soft spot for a manta if the truth be told good luck with the cappers mot m8
Tigran Posted August 29, 2006 Author Report Posted August 29, 2006 I'll need it - having forgotten about the rotten headlamp Done everything else (quite a list) and I bet you any money they will fail it on that poxy little thing. Wait and see.
Tigran Posted September 2, 2006 Author Report Posted September 2, 2006 Capri's got some nice new shoes:
Mr Sam Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 that capri's amazing you gotta leave it that colour
arch Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 i had a 72 viva it was light blue 1300 but i got it for nothing an sold it for 30 quid cos it was to roten for me!!!
Tigran Posted September 5, 2006 Author Report Posted September 5, 2006 sam. Arch if they're not waxoyled from the off (like mine was) they don't stand much chance. Sam - sorry, mr satin and madamme chalkboard are getting busy on the capri
V8ian Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 I think the HC with the matt black and green RS type stripes looks well cool, just to confuse the hell out of everybody de badge the car, redrill the hubs to ford patern and fit capri 4 spokes, just tell em its a ford prototype
Tigran Posted September 6, 2006 Author Report Posted September 6, 2006 Really liking that idea! V8 rumble and RS looks - have I died and gone skywards?
Danmex Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 That Vaux will look ace if it ends up looking like your photoshop pic
Tigran Posted September 8, 2006 Author Report Posted September 8, 2006 Well the rears are on. Hopefully mocking up the V8 today - here goes.
rs2000_gb Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 Seen this parked around P/Bar ....looks good
Tigran Posted September 9, 2006 Author Report Posted September 9, 2006 Seen this parked around P/Bar ....looks good Think that might have been with the previous old boy owner. Either way tis cool to hear of a local OSF'er. You RS isn't the one I see outside of Kimberley motors every now and then is it?
rs2000_gb Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Nope but it is a black one Seems to be a few osf kicking around now seen a black capri driven by a young guy floating around also a couple of mk2 tinas
Tigran Posted September 10, 2006 Author Report Posted September 10, 2006 Nope but it is a black one Seems to be a few osf kicking around now seen a black capri driven by a young guy floating around also a couple of mk2 tinas Oh the black 24v capri. That's what gave me the idea for these revo wheels. Shame I've not got enough time to nick his engine idea as well
Tigran Posted November 7, 2006 Author Report Posted November 7, 2006 Well progress was Sh*te whilst at uni, doing no more than de-bumpering it totally and odds and sods. Now the fun stuff has started arriving: Pistons, block and other assorted goodies are winging their way to me riiiiight now. Don't think it's possible to get a bigger set of valves, steel, triple angle valve seats, some nice porting in the ports and a fresh looking polish. Cannot wait to see what this bad boy'll make on a certain set of rollers. Some mahles + = Me looking for any engineering firms in Dorset. Oh and the first decent pic I have of the car, thanks to a mate of mine in southampton for it: Bored of sitting around one evening so went out and finished stripping the car out: Didn't find as much rust as i expected - only a bit by one of the driver seat mountings:
Pipster007 Posted November 7, 2006 Report Posted November 7, 2006 A bit of T-Cut and the Capri will look lovely
Gareth Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Didn't find as much rust as i expected - only a bit by one of the driver seat mountings: Mine had gone there too, exactly the same way.... Looks like a weak spot. Lovin ur ideas for the Viva dude
Tigran Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 Good news is i went to speak to the local capri/osf nut round here about getting the double plates welded for the cage and he said he can plate up the tiny bit of rust on the pass. side and that thing on the seat mount for very little wonga. Don't trust my cakhanded Mig'ing to keep me in the car during a crash
looney_mom Posted November 10, 2006 Report Posted November 10, 2006 That viva brings back memories. Up until 1979 my dad was a driving instructor and we had succession of these as his tuition cars. Infact it was what I learnt to drive in as well. I know its not OSF but it great to see it nevertheless
Tigran Posted November 17, 2006 Author Report Posted November 17, 2006 Well got some warm, dry working space sorted: and subsequently got the head stripped: will have it rebuilt with the new bits by late afternoon. Was trying to get it done for tomorrow as there is an RR day i am going to but will just have to use it as a 'before' run. Excuses excuses.
Tigran Posted December 22, 2006 Author Report Posted December 22, 2006 Not had time to get the bits n pieces on as I have been busy enjoying the car. But now I am back home I have a second car I can use so I am starting to get the work done to get the engine to a decent spec. Anyhoo went to a local retro meet and someone took a couple of pics, thought these were cool. p.s. the body and overall look is staying like that for ever!
