under bonnet plates

right under the escort mk1 bonnet you have 2 plates:

 

one is the black and silver one with all the trim codes etc.

the other is a blank plate with id numbers stamped on.

 

i want to get them stamped right so could you tell me what goes on the blank plate

and where?

does anyone have a pic with explanation

the second plate is what type of shell ie standard 48 or desirable 49 shell. as to the other info on it im not sure not meaning to hijack the thread but should i be concerned if the second plate is missing as with placeborick can u get them made if there missing

I'm not 100% but believe ford will srill do them for you as long as you have a logbook in your name and id to prove who you are

im sure u can just getb a blank and stamp it yourself really. i dont think the dvla are too concerned with old cars its not like theres major identity theft like new supercars.

i just want it to look more original

No just go to your local dealers m8 from what i can gather it aint expensive either
