Silverback Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 Not sure where to put this, or even if it's been posted before (didn't see anything on the search) but I've just come across an Excel spreadsheet showing (what seems to be) all the Ford gearbox's and ratios. There's a table where if you put the ratios in for the gearing (and put the correct diff ratio in) it calcs what mph you're achieving at certain revs. Also makes an allowance for wheel size and tyre size. Worth checking out if you've not come across it before. Here's the link (will go straight to a download tab thingy): http://unibrain.org/motorsports/caterham/upgrades/transmission/gearing.xls
Admin Vista Posted September 11, 2007 Admin Report Posted September 11, 2007 Interesting, why does it quote two different sets of ratios for the S ierra type 9? Lines 31 and 36

bortaf Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 Interesting, why does it quote two different sets of ratios for the S ierra type 9? Lines 31 and 36 Cos there's 2 sets of ratios, close and normal, close is usually in the V6 box I have heard tell of some late 1.6 CVH's coming with the closer set as well but never had one in my own hands to check All i get is a 404 error on that link
