Luke_hpe2.1 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Been getting rid of all the underseal under my car back to bare metal and have primed it with high zinc primer. Do i just paint it the colour of my car or do i stonechip it? Any advice would be great. Cheers, Luke
geoffersmasher Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 is say..... stone chip stone chip bit more durable that way
Toby Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Deffinately stone chip.....but do it with some thought. If you're concerned with weight, only stone chip the front exposed edges or bits behind the wheel ie in the arches that are going to get stone pelted! that in my opinion is the best compromise.
johnny_h Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Smooth stone chip bud. I may do mine over winter. What did you find was the best way to remove the old sticky shit?
Toby Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 Smooth stone chip bud. I may do mine over winter. What did you find was the best way to remove the old sticky shit? I brushed petrol onto mine, left it to soak and it seemed to soften up and wipe / scrape off. Only found this out after chipping, rubbing, scraping, burning for hours! If you do use a blow torch be carefull as it really burns if it sticks on you!
