sambo Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 I ahve this fluid in my car and apparently it is for motorsport use only. Why is that? is it not safe for the road i.e needs getting up to temp??? Just wondering?
kev16v Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 its got a higher boiling point for track use
Jay_harrier Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 AP say its fine for road use: http://www.apracing.com/car/brakefluid/index.htm Silcone racing fluids absorb moisture at a quicker rate than normal road going fluids which can lead to problems
RETRO_AL Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 ive got castrol srf in mine and that the highest rating you can get and it fine
sambo Posted October 10, 2007 Author Report Posted October 10, 2007 I think you read that wrong mate, it says..." AP 600 Brake Fluid is intended for competition use only". !!! Oh well.

My mistake didn't spot the AP551 - I'm suprised that AP say competition only as its non hydroscopic, must be another reason unless its marketing
