Admin Mk2Jo Posted October 15, 2007 Admin Report Posted October 15, 2007 Just thought you would like to know that Colin (v6col) was approached by one of the guys from Team Taz Racing at The Pod yesterday and he shook his hand and congratulated us (Old Skool Ford) on our racing at yesterday's RWYB .... we consider it to be a compliment from such a well established group of drag racers Check out their website .... their cars are "mad" http://www.taz-racing.co.uk/
Pipster007 Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Thats great to get recognition from, what I would call a slightly eccentric racing team. After all you would need a slight bit of eccentricity to drag race little Fiat 126's Well done everyone to be recognised
Col-ashtonmobile Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 yes thats right, i was walking along not even facing him and he called me to look round and shook my hand and said ' well done you lot on today you were all great ' which i took as a massive compliment from them , it was the guy who runs the gimme 5 cortina what a lovely guy

CHEVY Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Yes the Gimme 5 Tina is Winstons. I have not seen him at the Pod for a while,he also has a yank powered Rover P5 which he has had for years and is also very nice. One of the nicest fellas in drag racing,
ASBO CAPRI Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Had a race against the purple pick up. It kicked my ass 9.6 to my pathetic 12.2 but then it does have a procharged 406 small block. Need to catch the Taz capri up thats run a 9.7 with a nitrous 406 chevy. They seem like a friendly bunch of fellas.
Retromotorsport Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Think Winston still goes down the Dutch House street and strip meets .. i last see him at the Brentwood show a few years back, great fella and been doing it for years .. last see the Skinner brothers (the 500's) at North Weald a few years back ..
novanut64 Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 they are a great bunch they stick together race quick cars and when the racing is finished for the day they sink a lot of beer a blueprint for OSF to follow

Guest MK1gaz Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 The geezer with the fiat 126 came over to me once a few years back at the Pod and said "is it alright if i line up aginst my mate as i'll only make your hairdryer look stupid anyway" . Being the shy chap i am i told him to turn off his gas and fit street rubber and show me how fast he was then against my hair dryer !!!!!!!!
