old skool freestyler Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 right can someone tell me if this looks ok to low or what please the car is this high of the ground so bear this in mind right this is the exhaust so does it look ok
old skool freestyler Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 im thinking that now so what you recon the bast way to get it higher is? or am i going to have cut and weld the manifold?
mk1mexico Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 looks like you have a 1600 manifold on a 1300 ??
old skool freestyler Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 i was told it was a 1300 one but looks like it aint now well whos got a 1300 manifold for me please
bomber1 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 if u can do it ur self then cut n weld what u got. then u can get it nice n tight under the car
Slik 50 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Failing that mate just give it a few good whacks with a big hammer
old skool freestyler Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 Failing that mate just give it a few good whacks with a big hammer well just got back and got to weld it all back up again its low but its not the lowest point so im happy for now but it will be altered
texr2000 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 I rem when I fitted a 1600 manifold on my 1300 (knew I was putting a 1600 in soon) was a nightmare! Couldn’t get on the drive in reverse hit everything, grounded out on something and when I got out and looked couldn’t work out what it caught lol! Most of the problem was the clamp. I got it chopped around so now its about the same as the chassis rail and not had a problem
keeh Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 something to bear in mind, you will need to size one end up to fit over the end closest to the manifold if you are going to cut and weld, if you cant do this then ask an engineering firm, its a 2 minute job, but it needs to be done to allow the air to flow more freely without getting caught on weld oking into the exhaust

keeh Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 where it is cut, one part will need to overlap another, have a drawing for you where exactly will you be cutting it, i think by you could probable lose those 2 diagonal pieces and but a shorter bent piece and weld that on instead
old skool freestyler Posted October 19, 2007 Author Report Posted October 19, 2007 the cut is on a straight bit to kink it up a little so its more of a slice than actualy cutting it and ill just fill the gap up with weld for now as im having a engine built atm its not to much of a problem just need to get it threw a mot
