X-pack-Glyn Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 To a set of DCOE's and what i need to know is WHY THE HELL DIDNT I DO IT SOONER??? after years of hearing "you dont need it", "you'll flood the engine" , "they never work", well, what a load of the round ones... i can now start the car first time instead of 7th or 8th time. the bonus is it isnt like a choke an a downdraught that has flaps that get in the way when not on choke, this is a cold start device and as such doesnt "choke" the carb at all, just richens the mixture. anyone else has the system on dcoes then get a cable across em, they work!
escort21 Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Used my choke on my single 40 for 2 years....told you it worked
w p e Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 agreed they do work but if the fueling IE pump/idle jets are correct then 3 pumps turn key its alive.and yes its a fuel inrichment devise. just be carefull when useing this devise as they can stick as there not used often and stick
Supercharged Nat Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 hahahaha, finally he comes round! lol even just a fast idle helps in the cold, but with how cold its guna get i prefer choking the intake if it aids winter running! (i should point out that i have the choke cable fitted to my dgas but it only operates the fast idle cam- no flaps fitted!) out of interest how does the choke on a dcoe enrich the mixture with out choking the cab as such?
