212 bhp so far

My engines had 2 mapping sessions so far and the power and torque change so much just by moving the cams a touch . Here's the lastest one from Monday night and more to come yet . This is on 100% pump fuel , no octane booster or additives . Timing is at 25 degress of advance and it's got 180 bhp at the wheels . I drove it home tonight and it runs great , poodles in traffic , nice and torqey , smooth and responsive and sounds the tits  . My paddle clutch and straight cut box work alright as well , it's piss easy to drive and not all that noisey really . P.S. It goes alright :shock::shock:pictures046.jpg

We reved it to 8700 but where the cams are at present the power drops off . The engine builder is having a fiddle in a few weekends time and he reckons when he's finished it will hit a much higher bhp level . I'm well pleased with it as it is , it drives nice and poodles along loverly in the traffic

What's the rough cam spec? 8700 is plenty of revs! Is that the limit? Is that standard Cossy crank and rods?
It's got race cams (BD4's i think) , fardon steel rods , 12:1 accralite forged pistons , cosworth steel crank , titian dry sump etc . It can rev at 8500-9000 easy peasy

Sounds like a good package. Pretty racey cams

Do you think its being held back then?

Is 25 degrees enough in that engine? I run 28

It was on 28 degrees but makes more power at 25 . I've got a sensible twin box exhaust on it and a 4-2-1 manifold instead of a single box 4-1 system . This will restrict a bit of peak power but it makes it nice to drive as you can see on the dyno plot . Also saves me from buying ear deafenders when driving to Tescos

I must admit driving everywhere with earplugs in is not very sociable!!

Do you recognise my Avatar? Nicked it off you, cropped it and hey presto!
