FlashCadillac Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Driving home from leeds after picking up the new wheels for the tina... driving along the motorway at about 80 (the spedo said 70 officer.. honastly) and suddernly started to loose power slower and slower it got so i pulled over into the hard shoulder... turned off the engine... started it up again... sat there reving it.... seemd fine, fuel gage read 1/4 of a tank so i set of again fine untill i got up to about 40 and it started getting slower... luckily it was late on and no traffic and managed to get me to my exit and died on the roundabout under the motorway and that was it... wouldnt start again didnt think it was a lack of petrol as i thought i would have just gone all of a suddern and thats it But i do have some new wheels for the tina now.... the car just needs a bit of persuasion to get them to fit.... wheres that basball bat called the RAC and they said "someone will be with you in the next 75 mins" Thanks Love!!!! sat there freezing on a bloody roundabout! RAC man came out and sqirted some petrol into the air filter and broooommm.... it was off so hi went off to the petrol station and came back with some gas and it was fine!!! after he had put the petrol in the bloody fuel gage read less petrol than it did when it stopped!!! But i do have some new wheels for the tina... the car just needs some persuasion to get them to fit
Mr Sam Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 oh dear mine seems to drop when you thrash it then when you drive sensibly it jumps back up........our new fangled astra has an LCD screen tellin you how many miles worth of petrol you got......and the fezza can do it with the fuel needle at least its nothing serious
FlashCadillac Posted November 14, 2007 Author Report Posted November 14, 2007 what wheels did you get dude? 7x15 superlites/minilites whatever the difference is im not usually a fan.... but i dont like the steels that were on it and they were cheap.... might get them re finished so i like them more lol
Slik 50 Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 our new fangled astra has an LCD screen tellin you how many miles worth of petrol you gotat least its nothing serious I had one of them trip computer things in a mk3 granada. You could start a journey on the motorway, set the cruise controll at 70 with 100 miles showing left in the tank. 50 miles later it would say that you had 110 miles left in the tank
Stu_B Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 My Anglia ran out of petrol on the way the MOT the other day - never trust old fuel guages!!

Burns Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 mine's pretty accurate, except when full it shows 3/4 and it has to go way below the red before she runs out of petrol
Copey Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 mine's pretty accurate, except when full it shows 3/4 and it has to go way below the red before she runs out of petrol same as mine that is!!
