johnny_h Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 Just been informed by the missus there is a new scam doing the rounds which is very easy to fall prey to. You will receive a phone call from someone claiming to be from visa or mastercard and they will give you your card number and call you by your name so it seems legit. They will tell you they are looking into a suspected fraudulent purchase using your card and they will ask you to provide the last three digits of the security code on the back of the card. Once they have that they have everything they need to make a purchase with your card. Watch out! There are thieving scum about.
Rick Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 theres also a postal scam where they post a card saying theyve called but no1 was home. then theres a number on the card to call which is some foreign premium line which charges you 15 quid and then about a pound a minute afterwards... barstewards
