my new laptop has no sound coming from it....it says the sound card is not working , is that part of the Windows Vista system on the poota or do i have to buy one and upload it to the poota

Normally things like this happen when you upload some new program or something like that. I could be a physical fault too though. Did you drop it, or punch the keyboard?

right go to control panel, then click system, then device manager, sroll down to sound and video and expand it, open the audio option and click update driver

or if you got the disk for the drivers ...insert and install drivers

Good advice, but if the card is faulty, it won't help

right , i have opened up to Device manager and do not have "Sound Video and Games controllers " on the list .That would mean i have no sound card installed then i take it

 

Also says no Audio device is installed

i would say that would meen the sound card has died. i would recomend you take it into a computer store and get them to look at it s i dont think i can offer any more help and if your not into computers i wouldnt recomend taking it apart

bottom right hand corner of screen click on arrow this should open whats hidden should be little picture of speaker with a red x on it click this icon then click the red x it should unmute the pooter
