V8ian Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 Nick, asked a couple of questions and the answer has come from an Ex Broadspeed employee, The 66 colours were-- Rolls Royce Regal Red, Non metallic and the roof was Silver fox [Cortina and Corsair] and the other car is Ermine white with a Vanician Gold roof and flash, Mk3 Zephyr??not sure about the source of the gold, but I am sure I can find out Took a while, but I am fairly certain they are correct!!! Ian
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 Found a look-a-likey and here's Anita Taylor
V8ian Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 Vanetian gold is in fact a Anglia colour, it was not in my Anglia parts book, the book is a 1st issue and dated 1959 so it did not have all the Anglia colours. And I have just noticed in the reply some early Broadspeed cars were Imperial Maroon and Ermine white roof and the Ford Sidewinders as the fella calles them, IE the Ford stickers down the bottom of the doors and wings were made from FABLON and hand cut, Fablon was/is the famous Blue Peter stickyback plastic,
puddy Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 Broadspeed raced in two liveries, mostly in Maroon with silver grey roof, and Anita Taylor raced in the 66 tourists trophy at Brands in White with a Gold roof and side flashes, The only colours that seem not to be on my colour codes is BroadSpeed, I can give you the Alan Mann Colours, I have over 140 team colour codes from the 50s & 60s listed, but none for Ralph Broads cars, What were the colour codes for alan mann mk2's then ian ? I thought they mixed the gold with some gold leaf as well? btw,go for it nick puddy
V8ian Posted December 24, 2007 Report Posted December 24, 2007 Alan Mann colours are, ICI P030-3442, FORD MONACO RED, and the Gold may be more of a problem as its an Automec colour just listed as AUTOMEC AUTOS METALLIC GOLD Ian
