105Nick Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 Ive always loved old fords because thyr'e different, thats why I love my parents bubblecar too, its like nothing else out there. I loved my brothers MK1s but the Anglia's a completely different experience. I know everyone goes on about having twin 45s and slamming it, which was my original intention but Ive become so attached to what it is I dont want to change it too much, just restore it. I love the different styling, the chrome work and the 50s american styling, inside and out and the looks you get from driving it. The white sidestripe and chrome spears and tailfins and the ar graph speedo is just so retro cool. Sure its pretty pants on the motorway but then, if the weathers good its great to open all the windows and the rear quarters sit back in the stick on some shades and cruise to the coast without a care in the world. I love the fact that everytime you turn the key, or I get home from work and see it sat there with the two tone pain just puts a smile on my face and makes me want to go drive, anywhere, nowhere as long as Im driving, round the lanes. I love the noise the little motor make sitting there purring away until it revs a lovely raspy note, and it revs so high it sounds like a little racer from the sixties, acknowledging that it has drum brakes and is 42 years old, the handling is great, despite the engine size it will still step out in the rain but its precise and puts more of a grin on my face everytime I use it than my mates cossie escort or evo 6 ever has or will do, basically everything, and when I'm not working on it or getting bits sorted I cant wait to get home from work, forget my troubles and take it for a spin, there's nothing that could replace it.
BaileyMex Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 The look the stance and the Sound of those carbs , cant wait to get some decent Trumpets on their, then the bark might make me have a moment

RedexRob Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 The way it puts a smile on peoples faces....blows away that reserved English home counties crap , suddenly people are waving at you (or was that the police?) no seriously I,ve even had women come up and talk to me about the car in car parks and other locations that you just wouldn,t expect them to..also when you,ve been driving a modern repmobile all week its just so damn different and refreshing!
