V8ian Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 63 pre air flow GT tach only fitted for 3-4 months, to fits to the column, you will need a column change shroud, the tach was designed to fit thru the gap where the gear lever fitted, The car would also have a centre console with 2 extra instruments, , oil pressure and amps I think, only trouble is fitting the centre console is you will then need an umbrella type Handbrake as the console interferes with the handbrake lever, I did a copy of a 63GT about 15 years ago, if you want it you will need to check to see if its a LHD or RHD as they are handed, and as such will also need the relevent column shroud, The clamp that is missing is an arse to make, as it hooks around the plastic [bakerlite] and make it wrong, the plastic will break when you tighten it up, BTW I sold a couple on fleabay about 4 years ago, and got good money for them, Ian
geoffersmasher Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 they sound nice and easy to fit from what your saying ian was looking at these though http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-4-in-1-Rev-coun ... dZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/White-Gauge-Rev-C ... dZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-4-in-1-Rev-coun ... dZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LOTUS-CORTINA-MK1 ... dZViewItem

geoffersmasher Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 only one of those is OLD SKOOL, guess which one??? lotus tina i was thinking maybe i could remove the old fuel an temp guage wack this in and fit the other guages somewhere else
V8ian Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 What do you have?? Aeroflow or Pre Aeroflow
old skool freestyler Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 think hes got a crossflow
geoffersmasher Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 crosflow elec ignition twin 40's why? will taht only work on pre crossflow?
V8ian Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 you still havent answered the Question??
geoffersmasher Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 oh airflow is to do with heating isnt it ? i believe its an air flow as it has internal vents near back windows am i right? its a 65
V8ian Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Now we are getting somewhere, The early type pod tach I dont think will fit the later dash!!, the other option that I was thinking of was the even earlier GT dash which had 3 instruments in a large Binacle, but again it will not the later dash, If you want to go with the Lotus style Tach, you can use the GT pod that fits the dash panel that will give you 4 extra instruments
geoffersmasher Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 ive given up on it haha to much hassle im just going to go with an autometer gauge haha. if i do its 30 the more for a 63 steering column surround then i got to make the bracket it goes on and on also ill have a big hole left from the column shift
geoffersmasher Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 went up to 36 didnt win anyway
geoffersmasher Posted January 13, 2008 Author Report Posted January 13, 2008 ill post a pic if it helps
