Finally got back on line after spending hours on the phone to bt who are fooking useless (sorry to anyone who works for them).

for those of you who don't know my house got struck by lightning a few weeks ago it came down the aerial line blew a hole in the bottom of my sky box, blew the video, dvd, tv, went through the phone lines to the computer and phones and my boiler pcb for some reason (had only just put anew pcb in it  the amplifier for the tv on loft was melted  lucky we didn't have a fire as we were at work at the time

luckly we ara covered by the house insurance so everything got sorted very quickly except my fooking broadband the other night while on the phone for over an hour again to bt i lost it with the guy he was saying sh#t like is it pluged in and unplug the fax and phones and sh#t like that tw#t

still at last i'm back :D:D

i've missed you all :D

i would sugest you all make sure your house insurance covers you for lightning strikes because some don't and it wasn't just me that got hit about ten houses all around were afected in some way like blown tv's or sky boxes but me and my nieghbour got hit the worst

BT are useless.Had problems with my broadband last week.Got through to an indian call centre.Couldn,t understand what she was saying. She said it was faulty cos i've got street lights outside my house  Then she said it was because of my Sky box.Eventually it turned out to be a fault outside with water on the connections in the road.

welcome back Mark, had a similar thing with the lightning only a neighbours house was hit but it took out half the town somehow ?

Does it matter who is your supplier, I thought they all use BT lines, just add's an extra cog in the loop ?
