DE-Cambered springs

I tried to get some for my mk1 earlier in the year,spoke to Leda,Spax,Rally design & a few others but couldnt get hold of any. Few people sugested heating my single leafs but not to sure about that. Be intersted to see if you can get any as i still need some for mine.

it means you dont have to use lowering blocks mate, which is better setup really.

i already have single leafs on my car and i was going to use lowering blocks. but now you mention de-cambering i feel my budget going further out the window

mate lowering blocks is a cheep option i am only going the de-cambered route cos i am racing it

 

if your tight on money mate, use the blocks

As I understand it, when the car is lowered with blocks it makes the axle more prone to "tramping". Whereas if the spring is de-cambered then the axle cant exert as much leverage on the spring so its less likely to wind up and cause the axle to bounce. (Thats the best I can explain it, but itll do till someone does better )

Use anti tramp bars to stop it tramping which come with all rs cars as standard.

do it your self. 2 axle stands and a powerful blow lamp plus a shovel or fire blanket to guard tank or remove tank. place stands 8inches from spring hanger so just touching springs[on level ground] heat spring till just red and slowly push down on boot lid till you get the height required do both sides and leave to cool down job done. takes 20mins ive done loads. you can do both ends of spring if required
