CARB QUESTION??? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

My standard carb on my MK1 has been playing up extremely badly and now i cant even drive it without it dying/cuting out

The good news is i have a twin choke webber carb removed from a 1300GT complete with the inlet which apparantly fits straight onto my 1100L is this true (if not what mods are needed?)

Also i need to get a rekit for it and an inlet gasket and i just wondered what model exactly of webber they are on the 1300GT (eg 32/36)?

Does anyone think the 1300GT carb may be to much for my little 1100HC 55HP engine?

If anyone could help me out here i would really appreciate it :D

i think the 32/36 was on the 1600gt (mexico) and 2.0 escorts. prob a bit much for a 1100. i have a twin choke on a 1300 & its a 32/32

rebuild kits are available still no probs.

as long as it fits the manifold mate. it wont fit on a single choke manifold though.

get some carb cleaner before you dismantle anything though and see if that cures the problem. cutting out like that usually means you aint getting petrol to your engine properly also check your fuel filter too

Sounds like a Weber 32DGV (or DGAV if auto choke)

If you have the correct manifold it will go straight on but make sure the gasket faces are clean and its done up tightly or you will get airleaks and it will end up running like a bag of spanners

If its jetted properly it will give you a bit of extra power
