fly off handbrake

where can i find one to fit a mk3 cortina, also im not 100% sure on the operation of them, but is it where the button is pushed to lock the handbrake in position, instead of pushed to release it, and the handbrake is free to move up and down without locking until you push the button.

no idea for a cortina im afraid. your right in your understanding of the operation though, press the button to lock it - otherwise its free. I fitted a kit one to my escort handbrake and all it consists of is a longer rod (from the button to the pawl) and the pawl is a different shape with the connection to the rod on the outside of the handbrake housing i.e. the button pushes the pawl rather than pulls it. think mine came from rally design a few years ago (5 ish)

and tje whole lot fitted in the handbrake, normally you dont see the rod as its inside the handbrake body

from the looks of that it looks as simple as drilling a hole on the other end of the pawl

They are about £6, my mate fitted one to his 4 door that he uses for drifting, works really well, and you cant get no cheaper than that, unless you screw a self tapping screw into the end of the handbrake to keep the button in

yeah i saw them in various online rally supply shops for about a fiver, any idea where i can get one that will definately fit my mk3 cortina?

push the button in,hold it in place with tape.drill through handle and button with small drill bit,drop a locking pin through hole

1 fly off handbrake in a matter of minutes
