mk1super Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 I decided to strip this escort down and rebuild it with more detail, Running gear is all striped off and every part individually painted shocks, prop, diff, interior, cossie engine stripped and repainted. The bodys fine just needs a polish and wheels are being banded and repainted. So hopefully will have a better stance and look neater.
RWDmad Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 cant wait to see it done sounds class

mk1super Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 how do you band the wheels mate? gav Well gav, i use the tyres from a sunstar escort, then take the minilight wheels off the minichamps escort trim the hub side of the minichamps wheel down so it can fit into the sunstar tyre, then carefuly not using to much glue stick the hub to the sunstar tyre then screw it when dry back onto the escort when in place i then glue the minilight side to the wheel and hey presto banded wide wheels if you want i'll take pics as i do it?

mk1super Posted February 19, 2008 Author Report Posted February 19, 2008 Well ive a tip dont use a sanding disc bit on your diecast models it makes a right pigs ear of it
mk1super Posted March 4, 2008 Author Report Posted March 4, 2008 Its comming along nicely With a few trick mods ive never did before
sab6024 Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 That looks really but where do you find the patience to do summat like that
mk1super Posted March 6, 2008 Author Report Posted March 6, 2008 Hows it going so far! Brake discs to pop on and brake lines too then pop back together. And as you can see the doors back on and fault free now linked cross bar motor complete The end results make all the fiddly getting mad etc all worthwhile and you get a buzz of folks reactions to what you have created.
mk1super Posted March 11, 2008 Author Report Posted March 11, 2008 Dazza hit a stumbling block if i fit the minis as they are they stick out too much, they seem too wide for arches suggestions please???????
DAZZA Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 was reading your wheel conversion earlier in this thread. Are you still using the minichamp/sunstar combo?
mk1super Posted March 29, 2008 Author Report Posted March 29, 2008 I think ive sussed out the problem the axel is too short, due to how i shortened it to compinsate for widder wheels
