Just had an idea... What with the increase in demand of old skool Escorts for rallying in Ireland, it might be an idea to contact various ferry ports with links to Ireland both on car/passenger ferries & containers with details of any Escorts that have gone missing incase they end up being shipped over there

It's a fine idea but with cars easily hidden in shipping containers and ports fighting a losing battle against illegal immigrants, I doubt they'll be too chuffed at a request to be on the look out for classic fords (sadly)

I travel to Ireland quite alot on theferry and nearly every trip there is a mk1 escort on a trailer and funny enough when you try and talk to the owners they dont really want to talk about their car which as every one here knows as soon as anyone shows any interest in your motor all you want to do is talk about it especially when your waiting around for a couple of hours,I think the second phone call you make after the old bill is to the ferry ports to Ireland

Its too easy, I suppose its the down side of our cars rising in value.

Back now (yes i was driving one of the vans, but didn't like to say I was going away) and didn't see anything. First news to get to me is a mate is down a car, not an OSF but he had a TR7 nicked.

Speaking to Andy today and asked him about the customs on all countrys to see if there was any interest in the escorts going in and out the country and he said there was no interest at all breezed through all customs so if you have a osf go missing you now no there not likely to be recovered at the docks if there going abroad :?
