Rick Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 iv been getting inspiration lately from watching programmes featuring dom littlewood and the moneysaving expert. first i decided to tackle my internet costs which i was unhappy with after 3 letters and 2 phonecalls. i managed to get £8 a month off and the guarantee of the same price for life (£10 a month) when buying a propshaft i managed to get over 40% off just by asking i reclaimed £255 off an ancient insurance claim that never went ahead. its getting quite addictive saving and reclaiming all this money. my next target is going to be my bank, iv heard if you threaten to leave them and tell them youve had a cash offer to change to another bank that they will match this to keep your custom. has anyone had any experience with this one? im think im gonna tell them iv been offered £200 to switch i think for 8 years loyalty i deserve that much? what ya reckon ?
FredTransit Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 I would always give it a go, no harm in asking. If you don't ask, you don't get! I always at least ask for trade price from (spares) shops, and rarely buy ready meals or large meat cuts like a sunday roast full price. I am ReductionQueen on www.moneysavingexpert.com
antz Posted February 20, 2008 Report Posted February 20, 2008 i always feel cheeky asking for discounts

Rick Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Posted February 20, 2008 its a bit harder in person but a well worded letter always works wonders.
