well , i have decided to give up motor bikes !!

i have been a biker for 27 years had loads of fun, fooking hell moments and accidents !!

but on the whole i would not change it for anything.

it is a hard decision to make but due to my leg and the blood thinning tablets i am on its more a case of being sensible (who me !)

soooooooo i will have more money to spend on my tina !!!!!!!!!!!:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

had to write this to help with the head and heart factor !!!!

Mate I know how you feel, I still miss Bikes loads and suspect I'll never really get them out of my system.

However like you I had lots of fun and lots of close calls on a succession of big bikes, I was on the verge of buying another one when a close friend was killed on his at the grand old age of 36

I've never got on one since. I know lots of people argue that it's frequently not the bikers fault when there's an accident, but who cares who's fault it is when you're dead eh? :(

Im drawn towards bikes, always have been. But cars are more sensible and safer and often more comfortable and easier to live with (not in my case though). I wouldnt mind an old 2 stroke RD350 or something similar but i know i wont stay upright for long.

Much as I canny understand people giving up riding, I can't fault some of the reasoning behind it.

Me, I'd have to be 6 foot under before I gave up.

i am hopefully going to do my bike test before the new testing system comes in in october :ykt: , always been into bikes which is probably from being near biker hotspots in derbyshire, and my brother rides, and a couple of mates

I,m only 36 and gave up on bikes three years ago ! It was just too bloody dangerous. It seemed like i could,nt go for a ride without some numpty pulling out in front of me .The final straw came on my way to work one morning when i caught up with two transit minibuses full of imigrant workers ,i waited for a good bit of road indicated to overtake and started to pass,as i did so the rear of the two vans decided to overtake the front one hitting me and leaving me and the bike in a twisted heap at the bottom of a ditch, the tossers never even stopped! :(
