DarrenM Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Is it a Lotus Cortina Alan Mann replica or a Replica Lotus Cortina!?
Toby Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 as above has anyone been watching this....basicly a two door with a twink in it, a bit pricey i sold my old gen mk1 for less http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1964-Alan-Mann-Ra ... dZViewItem What makes you say it's not a genuine lotus? Do you think that's Terry from the Lotus Cortina Spares Centre selling it? If it's genuine Lotus (replica Alan Mann car), the price is alright isn't it?
lotusless Posted February 25, 2008 Author Report Posted February 25, 2008 if thats terry from l.c.s.c he has a long drive home from somerset to romford in essex i'm not saying its not a nice motor just if i was selling a gen mk1 lotus (alan mann rep) i would put gen lotus shell in the ad! so i dont think it is, + yes i suppose its worth whatever someone pays for it

MightySprocket Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 wow, i do like them classic capri's, never really looked at one before, the roof line to rear quarters looks fast when its standing still!
lotusless Posted February 26, 2008 Author Report Posted February 26, 2008 thanks for the comments chaps. i lowered the green one so much i couldn't get it off my drive so i had to raise it up a bit, the pic is after so you can imagine how LOW it was . they do look fast standing still + they were designed by a yank. + sorry sprocket they are consul capri's not classic capri's the classic was the one with the anglia style rear screen.

lotusless Posted March 1, 2008 Author Report Posted March 1, 2008 thanks m8 ive just found out the guy i sold it to about 7 years back has just died + it's for sale for £4k i think.
X-pack-Glyn Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 Is it me or are people getting a tad greedy, I wish my Corsairs were worth that much. Greed or stupidity, iether way it will drive the classic ford scene under, and it will all become a victim of its own success... At the end of the day its just an old ford and now prices are just getting silly theres much better stuff you could buy.
Lotus-Eater Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 The Alan Mann replica started out as a 1200 Deluxe with bench and column change. However it is a totally immaculate never welded shell with the chassis number still on the strut top mounting and has been built pretty much "no-expense-spared" and has lots of great parts. As to whether its worth the final price.....well it obviously IS....to the person who bid that for it! Value on all these old cars is totally subjective - they are worth precisely what someone is willing to pay for them at that particular time, no more and no less. There is no "book price".
