over_head_cam Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Didn't see this . Not really acceptable on OSF
hotrodholty Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Posted: Sun Mar 02, 2008 12:16 pm Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUOTE: "i was gonna defend Mr Argumentative, i enjoy his banta and all the bullshit that he chats . but and this is a big but i now feel i cant as iv noticed Mr Argumentative,s name aint in purple so oi tight arse pay up. your opinions cant hold much weight on this forum if you cant be arsed paying £12 to confirm your serious about the site. ha ha ha correct me if im wrong, suck my balls mr "rollin on coasters"!" all said in jest, if i can get one up on g.a.z it makes my day and i know he can take it. please dont take this post out of context. it was aimed only to wind up g.a.z. and im sure he knows im takin the piss. no doubt he will retaliate, or would have if the room had'nt been locked . people need to chill out and enjoy this site for what it is. a place for like minded people to have a laugh, a bit of banta and get help whenever they need it if you can make a contribution with cash great, if you cant im sure you more than make up for it in providing help and info for other users. now all calm down and enjoy the site
over_head_cam Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Still, it's not reall what OSF is about. I understand you sentiment in writing it, but it does seem to be a little too aggressive.
hotrodholty Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 it would'nt seem half as agressive if the emoticons where still there and gaz had a chance to reply probably giving me a bit of stick back. i think locking a room is a far more aggressive move to make just because (and this is how it looks when you read the full thread) gaz called you a moaner. sorry mate but thats how it looks. the only person who should have a problem with my post is gaz and in my opinion he will take it on the chin like he always does and not be arsed ps if i have offended you g.a.z i appologise fully mate
over_head_cam Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 So what your saying is We (the admin and mods) should just let everyone say and do whatever they please and just accept it? or Should we try and maintain the site/forum in the way that we have been entrusted to by it's owner? And apologising to GAZ? What next

And apologising to Mr Argumentative? What next i aint saying let the site run riot, i just think you may have jumped the gun in this particular instance. as for the apology if i thought i may have offended anyone i would apologise whoever they are, why this should be different for gaz i dont know, he's just another member of oldskoolford like the rest of us.
over_head_cam Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Ok then. The threads are unlocked now. What everyone needs to realise that even if something is meant in jest, it is not allways seen as that by other members, hence why this post started. DarrenM obviously though it was wrong, as I'm sure others did (including myself) Does that make sense to everyone?

DarrenM obviously though it was wrong, as I'm sure others did (including myself) Does that make sense to everyone? i thought adding a load of emoticons such as would show i was joking otherwise i would have used . i quess we all read post's in different ways and should maybe read the post and the emoticons a bit better. fair cop guv! now lets get back to talkin old fords
davreeve Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Quite clear,You just have to think carefully before posting as some things that seem ok may offend others.I found this out in a post involving cats and guns ,Only a bit of humour on my part but offended the animal loving fraternaty.Should have been more careful.
over_head_cam Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Just a final note if I may? If I said to someone "your mum is a whore and I hope you die of aids" then added a couple of smileys, would that make it ok? Now obviously I wouldn't because it's just wrong, but can anyone see my point? I have to say, the amount of times I've prepared a post and then read it throgh, then decided not to post at all is immense. All The Admin team want to do is maintain the site, and make sure it doesn't become a slag-off site like so many others I've seen that are completely un-regulated
Mk 1 Mark Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 you cant argue with that!!! Oh yes you can!!!! Well someone can
Stu_B Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 This is the way I can see the site going with so much emphasis on 'Purple' - it may have been said in jest in this instance... but how till it does become them & us?
PIG Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 do we have to have this purple thing then,i dont mind giving money to help out as i have done but i dont like the purple
johnny_h Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 I must admit I'm not a big fan of being purple. The subtle osf contributor was enough for me. Sorry.
over_head_cam Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Perhaps we should have a vote. That would be the democratic thing to do
Cookie Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 There's only one thing that can be said 'YOU CAN'T PLEASE ALL OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME' A simple fact of life, everyone gets to stressed and worked up at silly things on here lately. ' just chill Winstons'
Josh_gsy Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 mine name isnt in purple and will be if i can be bothered to ever actually bring my wallet to my computer but i think having it in purple makes it feel pressured on those that dont contribute.
NHR115 Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 I'd love to contribute but being a student and earning a minimal salary doesn't really allow me the pleasure of contributing. I know it's only £12 but its a lot of money when you dont have it
m1c Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 I'd love to contribute but being a student and earning a minimal salary doesn't really allow me the pleasure of contributing. I know it's only £12 but its a lot of money when you dont have it offer a fiver but have name in green instead
