NHR115 Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Does anyone know where I can get my hands on two bonnet hinge panels for my Mk1 Escort?
Chud Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 Have you tried Expressed Steel Panels in Yorkshire ,they have a website with a diagram of your car on it and a list of available panels for it,i've bought most of my panels for the GT from them and they are a very helpfull company Hope this helps
NHR115 Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 Yeah I've had a quote from them at £175 but Neil told me to try on here and see if anyone know anywhere else I could get them from. It looks like i'll have to use them then
over_head_cam Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 That seems quite expensive for what appears to be quite a simple panel. Are you deperate to have the exact shape of the original, or would something close do. It could be made
NHR115 Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 I'd have to ask my Dad, he's the one doing the car for me Thanks for your help everyone
Chud Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 I'd have to ask my Dad, he's the one doing the car for me Thanks for your help everyone No worries Just had another thought, have you tried Hadrian panels,i expect they have a website too.Hope you get a decent result!
Rick Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 thats pretty damn expensive. bets bet is to find someone with a rotter and have them drilled off... if ida known such a part would ever be asked for ida removed them fr4om my donor before i scrapped it
SHIFTY Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Does anyone know where I can get my hands on two bonnet hinge panels for my Mk1 Escort? Oi oi! hows it goin? didnt realise you were on here aswell Hows the car coming on?
NHR115 Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 Didn't realise you were on here either Use this site more than SOSE really. Car is coming along a treat, just need these bleeding hinge panels and we're pretty much sorted. Hows your car coming along? Saw your Goldie at the Feb SOSE meet but must've missed you.
SHIFTY Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Hya lol yeah its a good site this need to try come on it more Yeah havent seen you or your dad in a while. My car is coming on good thanks although im getting a bit held up waiting on parts just now. Iv got a resto thread on the sose site. Loadsa good pics of the rebuild. What else have you got to do to the shell apart from the hinge panels? Alan on the sose has replaced his im sure, think he has some pics too its under ''Stinky Eric''
NHR115 Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 I hardly ever go on the SOSE website now but i'll make a point of going on it now and i'l have a wee look at your work. Yeah this site is fab, its like one big happy family on here Once we get these hinge panels and sort out or drivers side wing then the car will be ready for painting. I think the only other thing we need is our seats and thats us ready to go. TBH i dont really know much about the car, i'm just excited about getting her on the road. lol.

NHR115 Posted March 8, 2008 Author Report Posted March 8, 2008 That was the name of the folk Neil told me about. Couldn't remember what it was. Cheers

over_head_cam Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 That's scary expensive. As above, talk to Darran at Escort-Tec. He should be able to sort it for you.
