Fiesta Steve Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Anyone into watching proper racing with overtaing any such like ? Bashing fairings at 200 mph and 800cc engines revving to 20,000 rpm. Tonight is the first ever night time GP. Formular boring will be copying them later on in the year. For the first time in a long time we have a decent British rider, James Toseland, 2007 World Superbike Champion. He's moved over to Moto GP and has qualified 2nd ahead of Rossi, Stoner etc !!! Good Luck JT 8PM on Euro Sport and I think it might be on BBC 3 as well. Its flood lit, so no lights on the bikes and the paint work on the bikes looks wicked under the lights. Enough lights to light 70 football pitchs !! You can see the flames out of the exhaust better and sometimes you can see the pipes glowing inside
pauln Posted March 9, 2008 Report Posted March 9, 2008 Just watched the 125 race (headbangers) and looking fowards to the next one .
Fiesta Steve Posted March 9, 2008 Author Report Posted March 9, 2008 I'd love to see JT whip rossi's ass Could easily happen if Rossi's Bridgestones don't work tonight 15 minutes to go
Trevmk3 Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 i watched all 3 races as normal and i must say that it was great fun watching it. the 125's is full of 15+year olds who dont give a crap (well done Scott Redding and Danny Webb). the 250's was full of crazy moves as usual. and as for the 800's it was amazing, at first your thinking that the ducati has no real power advantage untill they wind it up a bit near the end, Toseland fearless on a new bike against 10 other world champions, and Pedrosa's start (how quick ) all in all a good watch
pauln Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 What a shame, Toseland got everything out of that bike that could be had. I have to admit i got it wrong, I said before the race Stoner would be in the lead within 6 laps (2 out). Still a promising start to the season I just hope the yamaha can be made to go faster.
Trevmk3 Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 they just need the new engine to eek out a few more horse's whilst keeping under the fuel capacity regulations. Rossi didnt seem happy on the tyres near the end
Fiesta Steve Posted March 10, 2008 Author Report Posted March 10, 2008 I bet he's regretting swapping to bridgestones now I think it will be a different story at other rounds thought. Toseland did very well to only finish about 1 second behind Rossi even though he was only on the old spring valve engine and Rossi had the air valve. Round 3 JT and Edwards are meant to be getting the air valve engines
Trevmk3 Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 i really hope that my mate has the grace to not book his stag weekend for the same weekend as Donnington round. he will die if he does
mk1super Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Donny should rock theres talk of some of the lads off the bike site iam on going to it, so if any of you are going to the race just look for a convoy of fireblades or group of em together cant miss em all have cbrfirebladers logos on bikes and fleeces with logo on back and tell em eckie says you must buy me beer or he will ban you all If they beat you or lynch you i hold no responsiblity
