Gonzo Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 ...Is there any way to bolt a pinto to one of the front wheel drive gearboxes? After seeing a somewhat gorgeous Pinto-powered ratbike, it got me thinking...
mk1mexico Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 Got to be possible mate. A zetec bolts up to a type 9....
Gonzo Posted March 14, 2008 Author Report Posted March 14, 2008 That was my thinking. You get crossflows out of escorts bolting up to fester gearboxes, so surely pintos shouldn't be that difficult. Zetec gearboxes could be fun though... 6-speed monster ratbike!
Gonzo Posted March 14, 2008 Author Report Posted March 14, 2008 ratbike? Gimme a minute... although if I pst piccies up, I imagine someone's gonna want to move the thread into Off Topic [hint hint]
Gonzo Posted March 14, 2008 Author Report Posted March 14, 2008 Pics of something akin to what I want to create: Turbo diesel ratbike, still with the gearbox and hand change: Pinto ratbike. This one looks like it's had a direct drive setup made for it. So essentially, it's a 2-litre twist n' go... which is gay.

Guest MK1gaz Posted March 14, 2008 Report Posted March 14, 2008 My atmo cossie was bolted to a front wheel drive MT75 gearbox in a mk6 escort before i bought it
Gonzo Posted March 18, 2008 Author Report Posted March 18, 2008 Hmmm... all these options! Good stuff. Means I'll be able to get properly stuck in when I finish everything else I've got to rebuild... 200bhp ratbike anyone?
