Whos seen/believes in ghosts?

well now, after reading a post bout aliens, i felt it only appropriate to talk bout ghosts...

 

got loads a stories but i'll start the ball rolling from a local pub i used to work at....

 

basiclly, the owners before the current landlords (15yrs ago) had a white husky dog that was misfortunatly knocked over in the car park and killed.

 

several years (14) later, a cwoman came into the pub and commented to my mate working the bar about the beautiful white husky in the carpark and if it was the landlords.... much to his confusion as they had 2 little white terriers.

 

on further investigation he found out what i said earlier about the dog being killed and it scared him shitless....

 

no lie!

 

so, lets hear em then... love a good ghost story me

 

got loads more but i'll let em go one by one as other tell me theirs...

my nans old house had an old lady 'haunting' it a median described her, and the old lady who lived next to my nan said the description matched the one the median gave. intresting - woulndt use the upstairs loo after that tho

when i was just a kid my mam kept hearing knocking noices on top of the landing and in my brothers room. One night she was lieing in bed with my younger brother and she saw a white figure in the corner. lol she just ran out the room and left my brother asleep . She thinks its gone now. She just told me about this just a couple months ago glad she didnt tell me when it was happening

 

 

A friend of my dads house was haunted. They got knocking on the window, footsteps, pictures on the floor etc... They got some guy from the church to get rid of them. It worked did every floor but the loft and there was only a tapping noice from up there.

 

 

 

Anyone used the ouija board. Ive used it a few times but couldnt sleep at night after

D4n, you may think i am not very open minded to this kind of thing, that may be true but i am really fascinated by it all.

 

When i was a kid, probably about 10 i think, i can clearly remember to this day, a doris standing at the end of my bed just watching me. She has short brown hair and just stared at me.

I shat myself and dived under the covers and didnt come out until morning.

I can still picture her face and everything!!

 

I still dont believe in them though and i'd sooner believe in mind tricks or something. I was only a kid so it could well have been my imagination.

If ghosts and UFO's were true, we would have proof by now. 99.9% of apparent "authentic" footage of either turns out to be a hoax so, c'mon, doesnt that just say that it is all bull and its just people playing on what people want to believe?

The other 0.9% are just cases where it cant be proven either way.

Oh, and i also have done a ouija board.

Got a person called "POON" and the glass really did move.

 

Again, i was young (about 14) and i would sooner belive that it is the power of the mind moving the glass rather than a bloody spirit!

yeah i believe in ghosts i saw one i lived in a big old house as a child and previously a old lady had died there she haunted the house i saw her once

 

she just walked up the atic stairs and it made the stairs creek as she walked up then she got to the last step and vanished she was dressed in old fashioned grey and velvet clothes

Two stories: I believed I saw a ghost at my old school. It is Bronte House (the junior school of Woodhouse Grove for those in Leeds who probably know it).

 

It was at boarding school, but I went as a day boy, stayed for tea and my dad would pick me up at 6.30 after work (or the delivery guy sometimes, in his blue Mk1 Escort van). We used to do the ouija board. One evening (in winter) we'd done the ouija board, when one of the lads came running in to say there was something odd on the front lawn. We ran out, and, it was a clear night, we could see a white figure at the end of the lawn. It looked like a doris in a dress that they wore in the early 1800s. We crapped ourselves, and one of us was going to investigate when the bell for tea went. We all went inside and came running out as soon as we'd finished, but the figure had gone.

 

Second story.

 

My dad used to work at a shop called Rimmingtons in Bradford. It was is a chemist. The owner, who'd owned it for years, died about 12 years ago. His son who'd worked there since school took over.

 

A few weeks after the funeral, my dad was talking to the son (David) and something dropped off one of my dads shelves. He put it back, carried on talking, and it dropped off again. David said jokingly, 'It must be my dad'.

 

Then over the coming three months, allsorts happened. A display of makeup fell over for no reason, someone could smell the cigar smoke of the owner in the lift and stock room, the curtains in the canteen flew off the wall as two of the staff were talking about the things that were happening (they shit themselves and ran downstairs), plus some other things I've forgotten about.

 

The final thing that happened was one busy saturday. The owners daughter was in the dispensary talking to one of the girls further down the counter, when a bottle of clearasil fell off a high shelf that was between them. Only it didn't just fall off. They both saw it happen. They said it moved off the shelf horizontally a couple of inches, and then dropped vertically to the floor....!

i sometimes see things when i'm having a really big poo in the small bathroom (just has a toilet in it) but that may just be the fumes

My ma works in Ardglass golf club in co down and has heard and seen some things lol shes seen women in old fashioned clothes between the blinks of lights and vanish, heard a baby crying (builders found the skeleton of a grown man and a baby a couple of years later ), pool balls clicking after locking the pool room, weird noises, footsteps, a noise echo over her shoulder that she can only describe as if it was a honey monster in the oldest part of the clubhouse and a tap on her shoulder when no- one else was there and her name called in an empty room to list a few. I myself have never seen anything but heard footsteps in the back corridor, might have been nothing but freaked me out

 

Now the golf club is/was a castle and some parts date back to the 14th century, its beleived to be the oldest clubhouse in the world and has had a turbulent past with its fair share of murders and suicides

And its one freaky place with its corridors and back stairs

I was at my small secluded lake fishing for the night, cloudy, no moon, very dark and still and vary scary, across the far side about 80 yards or so i see a black figure at about 11.30 pm, freaked me the fook out big time...

 

the next day i see a fellow carp angler set up in the exact spot and proceeded to tell him, he had a huge grin across his face, he said...

 

"you idiot, that was me prebaiting my swim after id been down the pub"

wicked,this thread has picked up nicely... as someone said earlier, ghosts are more likely tobe tricks of the mind... but the mind works on electrical currents, so perhaps only living beings can sense them cos the ghosts are on the same 'frequency' or somehting!

 

as for the videos, don't believe that shit cos i have worked with effects at uni and ufo's and ghosts are literally too easy to do!

 

the worst ghost story i ever heard was bout someone who woke up because they felt pressure on their legs at night, and when they sat up there was a creepy old lady sat on their legs and they couldn't move! fook that for a laugh!

Natural earth energies can produce "paranormal" activities. I am a member of a local paranormal group & we did an investigation at a hairdressers which used to be located in Fleet Walk in Torquay which were reporting strange occurances including radios turning themselves on & a kettle in the staff canteen boiling itself.

 

Under Fleet Walk is a tidal river which flows under Torquay & out to the sea, when the tide fluctuates it causes a surge which is what was causing the activities to occur.

 

The story about the pressure on the legs & seeing the doris could be put down to sleep paralysis, where the person thinks they're awake when they're not.

Me my gran and my mam have seen ghosts. One of which was in my uncles old bar. You used to see doors open etc all over the place at around 9 in the morning People used to put it down to wind but it couldnt have been as there was no glass in the doors half the time allowing the wind to pas through. Also at my aunties she used to have a grey lady on her stairs who tripped and fell on her wedding day and snapped her neck used to appear and disserpear all the time. And one day it picked up some nail varnish and through it at the telly sshe moved out after that. There loads of things that have happend around me :S I also get alot of dodgy cases of deja vu

My brother owns a snooker club in Gravesend and last year we spent Christmas Day there, which is also my little girls birthday, she was two at the time and she see a ghost of a lady at the top of some stairs. IT FREAKED ME OUT. So my brother got some people round to investigate and there is a ghost of a lady at the top of the stairs, and there are about another five all over the snooker club. THAT FREAKED ME OUT.
