my mk3 capri is now off the road until im happy with it, which includes a lot of welding, couple of new panels, some paint and one of the above!

which of the 2 do u lot recon and y?

thats what i thought, i mean the YB has 10bhp more so i read, not sure about torque, but im willing to lose 10bhp for a v6, all my cars have been 4 pots so im up for a change,

also one of my uncles customers (hes a mechanic) has a 24v cosworth mk3 granny, rotten and engine wiring problems, but still runs smooth, just gutless.

basically nothing a carb wont sort out!

me thinks an offer is in order lol

YB equals big money and in high tune fragile ! BOA means cheap as chips to buy and fit . In a capri there isnt a cheaper + BHP ford transplant for the money Simple :ykt:

Cossie V6 in a capri  . I'd rather fit a V8 myself though (M5 power)

LS7 would be great in a capri :ykt: . Should smoke the tyres somewhat !!!!!!!:shock::shock:

it hasnt yet been down the track, i dont realy care if its N/A or not i just want something behind the back wheels so i can smoke all my mates plastics, pretty much does anyway but its not enuff :D

i just looked, and found that v6 cosworths r below 10:1 CR, so does that mean i could ram a turbo or 2 on there if i really wanted?

Posted

Yup. Although I'd sooner go N/A. 12:1 CR and some HUGE carbs. You can't beat the induction roar and an exhaust note that sounds like Judgement Day's round the corner! Turbos sound a bit gay...

12:1, haha my mates think ive got a shit battery on my pinto, little do they know...

so what would i need for this conversion because ive got a 2.0 laser, not a 2.8i and i know the 2.8s have extra strength and diffrent xmembers etc so would i be needing any of that, also, are cosworth v6's manual!

The best lump to get is the boa from the Granada (you could use the scorpios bob but wiring is a pain & timing gear & chains dont seem to last)

Dump the cat's & egr & fit the bob cams & you should be around the 220 ~ 230 bhp mark

Box's are 99% auto behind the v6 in this country so you need to build one if you want to go MT75, type 9's dont last long & T5's cost money :ykt:

You build an MT75 from a 2ltr box & a v6 4x4 box there is a right way of doing it & a wrong way !! :( You can use either a 2.8 or a 2.9 flywheel the 2.8's is lighter with v6 clutch plate & escort cosy cover

Agree with Hellblue. V6 for me too.

And if you throw the same money at the BOA as at the YB it´ll go fast too...but you don´t need to ...... and you can´t beat that V6 sound... :D
