Twinkle Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 ok i have now bought one thew older lever style one as im a tight sod but now cant remember how to plumb it in thought i would ask in here as one of you drag queens would be able to answer how to for me please
KJ 1320 Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 The pipe that goes from the master cylinder to the tee piece that splits and goes to each front wheel is where it needs to be m8 so from master cyl to line lock inlet and then line lock outlet to tee piece
Twinkle Posted April 4, 2008 Author Report Posted April 4, 2008 cheers m8 but which is inlet and outlet though kev? its not marked
Twinkle Posted April 5, 2008 Author Report Posted April 5, 2008 now im really confused as my servo has two outlets for the front and one for the back
Twinkle Posted April 5, 2008 Author Report Posted April 5, 2008 can anyone help on this as i want to finish the brakes completly tomorrow
flyingbanana Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 if your master has 2 outlets one goes to the back wheels then the other goes to the front add inlet side of the line lock stright to the master , then connect the outlet pipe of the line lock to the t peice which then splits the brakes to both front wheels
Twinkle Posted April 5, 2008 Author Report Posted April 5, 2008 the master has 3 outlets, one to each of the fromts and then one to the rear
flyingbanana Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 mine has 3 has well.....i just blocked one of them off with a bleed nipple
meXEco Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 You'd probably have to tee the front 2 together, then feed this to linelock-then tee off again to 2 fronts. Bit arse about face but seems the only logical way to do it.
caprinerd Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 just block one off ive done a few line locks and as Mr D says use a blead nipple or even a bolt with either thread lock or P.T.F.E tape
Twinkle Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 cheers guys will blank one off any idea which would be the inlet on the linelock? its not marked
Twinkle Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 it shouldn't matter mate its only a valve cheers thomas old chap
caprinerd Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 when you fit a line lock its upto you what ever feels best.where its mounted what angle you have it which way round you have the lock unit its like a seat m8 every one has there own position
quickrack Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Anyone got a handy way to clamp one in place??? Mine is old type too
Twinkle Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Anyone got a handy way to clamp one in place???Mine is old type too i thought that too. i have made an ali cradle for it to sit in and then cable tie it into it
MK2Ed Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 I used 2 saddles for 20mm conduit (Electricians stuff). Get plastic ones from B&Q then screw them straight into the side of the gearbox tunnel holding the 2 circular bits of the lever line lock - rock solid
Guest MK1gaz Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Line locks are for slick wearing dragsters . If you can't do a burnout without one then driving lessons are available
Twinkle Posted April 8, 2008 Author Report Posted April 8, 2008 Line locks are for slick wearing dragsters . If you can't do a burnout without one then driving lessons are available i can do one no problem but as its nursey's car its all gonna be a learning curve and i just want to make life a little bit easier for her
Conor Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 I take it they work by you pressing pedal to get brakes on then turning on line lock which keeps the pressure in the pipe to the calipers? Just so I can work out where to put mine...
