Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 how does the trolley wheels lock up when you go past the lines where it says no trolleys past this point bit sad but always wondered how this works
NHR115 Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Oooooohhh i've never seen them before (i'm easily impressed )
sab6024 Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 I love watching old people struggle with them at Tesco but I'm easily pleased It's magnets in the ground I was sad enough to ask a trolley chappy one day and that's what he told me
mossy Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 get it all the time at asda....as said they are activated by the magnetic substance in the paint which pulls the cover over the wheel and locks it...But yeah it is amusing!
escortmad79 Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Right, group OSF trolley joyride challenge! How far can you get
Chris! Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 it would be funny if someone was running with a trolley and it locked up
Trevmk3 Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 just need to take your own magnets to unlock the wheels if you want to take the trolley further
Trevmk3 Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 just a guess, i dont bother shopping with a trolley, if it can be carried by hand then thats what i'll take
Copey Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 it would be funny if someone was running with a trolley and it locked up we pushed a girl in a trolly down a hill and halfway down the little hill was one of the red lines, it chucked her out, LOL
Copey Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 just need to take your own magnets to unlock the wheels if you want to take the trolley further or lift the wheel up as it goes over the line?
FredTransit Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 If it's magnetic the magnetic field might go up a way, or it wouldn't be strong enough.
Trevmk3 Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 just need to take your own magnets to unlock the wheels if you want to take the trolley further or lift the wheel up as it goes over the line? build a ramp and take a running jump
FredTransit Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 I have seen the trolley jockies unlocking the wheels with a key, so maybe it's possible to do this with some ordinary hand tool?
Copey Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 why are we tryin to steel shoppin trollys anyways??
FredTransit Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 We're not, i was just curious how they let the lock off the wheels.
escortmad79 Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 why are we tryin to steel shoppin trollys anyways?? So we can get a cruise feature in Max Power innit blood!
surfingturnip Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 why are we tryin to steel shoppin trollys anyways?? So we can get a cruise feature in Max Power innit blood! damn you! I want to chav one up now and take it down one of our local cruise meets. Just like the rustlers advert microwaves
caprinerd Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 just push the trolley over that bit of land they refer to as a garden and it by passes the magnetic field that locks up the wheels and when you done push the trolley back over the strip and piss the wrincklies of by putting it back in the trolley park
FredTransit Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 Yeah, that avoids them being locked up in the first place, but what if I get a trolley on the outer reaches of the car park (the only place that has room for vans) and the wheels are locked, it's raining and it's the only trolley that isn't in use?
