Nettles Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 Had a day off today so we decided to go to Brooklands raceway. One of the attractions was a selection of classic and vintage cars taking people for a short drive around the raceway and to our delight this little Hot Rod was one of them! So we both paid the £1 fee and hopped in. Turns out the old boy driving was the owner and builder of the Ford V6 powered 1932 Ford rod and when I told him I was building a 1953 V8 powered Anglia he gave it large blasting up the hill climb section. He then took us to the outer edge of the banked section of the raceway and even managed to get the arse out on the way up. Definitely worth the £1 and made the both of us smile for the rest of the day.
Mr.Sumo Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 That looks soo cool ! And all for a quid.....result
slappy Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Nice one nettles, it would have looked better with a flatie or a 302, whens the Anglia coming out.

RUSTYPUP Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 That looked like a laugh. I love Brooklands. It has such a lovely feel to the place. I was lucky enough to be part of the centnary celebrations there last year. I was mechanic for an E.R.A. If ever any of you get a chance to hear the Napier Railton run (the aero engined monster of a car that holds the Brooklands record), then you must. It's awesome.
Lee-Mk2 Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 They had the Napier running at an Auto Italia event a couple of years ago it was a real monster stoped everyone in their tracks!
