Cheers - keeping an eye out, seem to be mainly diesel or later engines at moment
-
Cheers - not seen any as low as that, but seen 1100 which seems a decent price but was hoping to find a decent second hand one to be honest.

Looking for a good 2.0 Zetec for a RWD conversion. Cheers Lee

We were down at Brands Hatch over the weekend for the classic touring car event. There were some nice Fords in attendance as well as a few other classics. Some pics can be found in the link below: http://driven.boards.net/thread/234/ctcrc-brands-hatch?page=1&scrollTo=1190

That sounds like a very special car! -
Been looking forward to the Capri being tax exempt since it was reintroduced, still a little way to go but hopefully nothing will change before it gets there!

A nice looking car !

Love the colour - a very nice looking car!

This is why other European countries have suggested they would be against an independent Scotland joining the eurozone etc.
-
I think it would be bad for Scotland and the rest of the UK if a split were to happen. From what I understand this vote is not for independence but whether to explore it further - is that right? If so you can understand the "yes" campaign gaining momentum as voting yes or no is fairly easy but when it starts to be explored further and terms etc have to be agreed it probably will not feel quite so simple. That being said if it did happen I have no doubt that it would cost the remaining UK tax payers more money initially and to some degree damage our standing in Europe although probably not significantly. However I very much doubt that Scotland will be better off or indeed be able to maintain many of the things its residents have grown use to. I might be wrong but it seems like those that would like to be independent are basing a lot of the country's future wealth / power on possible future resources!

Bromley Pageant 2014 - lastminute.com stand lol
Lee-Mk2 replied to BaileyMex's topic in EVENT REPORTS
A bit red today and lots of comments from people about spending too much time in the sun - but was a good day so worth it. It was the first time the car has been out in nearly 2 years other than for the MOT a couple of weeks ago so was fully expecting some problems as Bromley has always been an unlucky event for me. Fortunately everything went fine. You guys had a nice display! It was a bit of a last min thing being on the stand which had been booked by one of my brothers friends. My brothers car was the white 1600 sport parked next to me. Both cars need some more things done to them but then thats always the way! -

Always good to see some Capri's in there! -
Have to say I like the slightly taller tyres. Never really liked the ultra low profile look.

AutoGlym Historic Car Festival - Brands Hatch
Lee-Mk2 replied to Yeomans22's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
Nice pics. It was a good day, with some good racing some of the drivers were putting on a good show especialy the red mk1 cortina. Was suprised by the lack of fords on the south bank, lots of triumphs etc. -
I thought that Ran winstone was talking about taking the main role in a new sweeney film - He also appeared in the original!

I have to say I enjoyed the event in fact I think on the whole it was the best one for a couple of years! That being said I think there is a lot of truth in what has been said so far. There were fewer cars in the 1 make parking - I was shocked to be the 2nd car in the row when I arrived - but I think it appeared a lot worse because the rows were so close together and therefore the parking didn't extend as far up the field. I think that was a major mistake on the part of the people setting things out. The Autojumble was very poor and has been getting worse for years although I think this is true of most events and I would guess this is due to so much stuff being sold / available online. The entry cost is too high £10 /£12 even for one make parking entrants. For me the one make parking was always the most interesting part of the event. The club stands only had to pay £5 for the car / driver and 1 pasenger so it would be more cost effective to book as a club min cost £15 for 3 car spaces. I organised the Alfa stand and it cost £50 for 10 cars each wih a pasenger where as I paid £20 for just my wife and I. Despite that the 10th car didn't turn up didn't let anyone know and so that ticket went to waste and that is a problem the organisers can't deal with. People who say they will go and then cant be bothered because it is too cloudy or they forgot to put some money by for petrol (if finances are that tight) I have been going to the pageant on and off since the early 80's and although it does seem that the event has not been as good since "Live" took over many of the people involved in the actual event are from before and therefore I dont think all the blame can be put down to the organisers. In many ways I think the event lost something when the drainage ditch appeared and split the event. I hope the event continues and I hope that someone comes up with some ideas to improve it too!

Nice pictures!
