Does anyone have any idea of what a '72 escort van might be worth?
A guy I work with has a nice straight clean rust free one (although needs a new front wing due to something falling against it.
It wasn't for sale but someone has been pestering him for it and has offered 3K, this seems posibly a bit low for a clean van?
Blimey, I am not on my own... are you a local lad then... well, local to Woolwich???
Yep Barnehurst so not too far away!
If a few are going up to this Ace from this part of the world I might tag along if thats ok?
A number of years ago when mine was being filmed for the cars the star some bloke came up and slagged it off thought he was being funny, before I had a chance to react Quentin Wilson stepped in and called him a "F****N W****R without a clue" bought a smile to my face!
Sorry if this is being discused elsewhere but are many people going to the Retroford track afternoon on thursday? Also are people going just to spectate?
I know a guy with a Dodge Charger a "true Muscle car" in every sense and I am sure with the powerful engine it has under the bonnet it would be a match for most cars down the strip etc but those drum brakes on the front - that would be a worry!
Throw a few bends into the equation and even my little pinto capri would fancy its chances.
Sort of sounds like what happened with Ford producing the RS?
I don't think you will ever find a british car that totally fullfills the american muscle car idea as europe always had diff. views of what a more "sporty" or "modified" car should be.
If Ford had offered a 5.0 V8 escort in real terms would it have been any better or even as good as a RS2000 on uk roads?
Just put the cheque in the post.
So all being well will be there in the Capri.
Looks like it will be a busy week with Goodwood and Bromley the week before .
There was always a good following for escorts in wales (in particular north) I guess because it was rally country. South east seems to have always had a good selection of old skool motors and its good to see that it seems to be on the increase.
As for Ausralia and New Zealand I did try to put them on the poll but for some reason they didnt appear!
So most people seem to be in the south east. Does this mean that old fords are mainly a south eastern thing or that the reputation of the 'old skool ford' website has yet to spread to other parts?
