Whats the crack on the current paint purchace laws. Went down my local factors to get some paint to redo my engine bay expecting to have big greif and having to do with water based, 1/2 litre of 2pac, no problem sir, what about Celluose, no problem sir, so are all these paint laws rumour and conjecture??

And in the right Ermine White

i was told at local place a few months ago the only 2k they had was leftover stock and theyd stopped making it now.

another local shop still makes celly but no 2k

i dont think the water based moved has quite happened yet as its not perfected and still a bit experimental

this has been going on for years. Strange how all the paint they say is going still hasn't gone?

One of the local paint shops won't sell paint to jo public so I go elsewhere- it's cheaper too and they are polite and helpful. I use celly and I have no trouble getting it. It is getting costly though - £28 litre mixed.

The powers that be are still trying to intoduce the new law, it was suposed to be early this year but they failed to make the start date to many companys still using thinners based prouduct, when it does happen it will end up killing the small paint shops, people wiil not be able to afford the cost of repaints, paint price has allready doubled since last year will be a great shame I am stocking up now.

they keep moving the goal post on this subject !!it should have taken effect already but for some reason they keep stalling on it !! so far they have moved the deadline 3 times !!

they have perfected water based base coats but its the lacquer that they are having problems with, as for the 2k it depends on the v o c level.. so if anything i beleve that ms 2k will be phased out and we willl only be able to get compliant 2k.

this is what i have been told by my local paint rep that comes down to our paint shop.
