fezza Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 ........two 7 inch fans or one 10 inch fan,the way im looking at it is the two fans will be 14 inch overall,is it as simple as that ive got limited space on my radiator and these seem to be the options i have with the space available
Fiesta Steve Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Not quite as simple as that, it will come down to surface area. 2 X 7" fans have a suface area approx of 48105 mm sq 1 x 10" fan has a surface area of approx 49087 mm sq If my calculations are correct the 10" fan is slightly more efficiant, but theres not much in it
fezza Posted May 3, 2008 Author Report Posted May 3, 2008 Thought there mighht be a little more to it than that,if theres not much in it i think i'll use the 10'' if thats better as it will work out cheaper and im tight
Fiesta Steve Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Tight !! Your the only person I know who can count their money while still in your pocket ! I'd go with the cheaper option too
Copey Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 i think the airflow is more important than the surface area, a bigger surface area wont always mean higher air flow, need to take in all sorts of things, spin rate, blade size, blade angles etc

If you tell me all the above Fezza I'll work it out for you Or you could just keep it simple
Supercharged Nat Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 what you want to do is: find out the air flow of the big one and of one of the smaller ones. multiply the smaller one by 2 and then see if that is bigger or smaller than the big one. but remember, two smaller ones could be set to cover all the cores where as the larger one might leave some cores uncooled.
