Guest MK1gaz Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Got myself a complete cosworth YB bottom end today for my mk1 cortina project for the pricely some of £390 . So that's a pinto block with a steel crank + steel rods for less money than a Duratec water rail and alternator relocation kit !!!!!!!!!! . What's even better is it's a proper FORD engine . So to turbo or to Atmo , that is the question
Guest MK1gaz Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Whoooooooooooooooooooosh psssssssssst or Baaaaaaaaaarrrrrrp , baaaaaaarrrrrp , baaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp go the 48's . P.S. this cars getting slicks and all the bits will be missing

Guest MK1gaz Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 I must be missing something, whats wrong with Gaz's thread?Nothing wrong with it mate , it's oldskoolford chat . Seems that some people take offence to anything these days unless a thread is started by a member saying "how much is this worth" or "i'm bored" or "opinions on my new wheels please" etc etc .
Mr Sam Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 P.S. this cars getting slicks and all the bits will be missing you dirty cheat could you stick a pinto head on it then change the pistons (to up the compression or whatever need doing togo ATMO) and make a strong 8v
Posse Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 no its all good but it gets a bit boring about bits missing slicks and that don't you think?
Guest MK1gaz Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 And your point is gaz? Fook me ive missed all this bullshit NOT .My point is = you can buy a steel cranked , steel rodded pinto blocked engine for a bargain £390 if you look in the right places .
Guest MK1gaz Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 no its all good but it gets a bit boring about bits missing slicks and that don't you think? What's boring about saying my cortinas going to be lightened out and have all the bits missing then ?

N/A...naturally aspirated...no turbos, no shit, no AT THE MOMENTS no nonsense N/A If it was suppsoed to eb called ATMO gran turismo and every other racing game would call it ATMO....
Guest MK1gaz Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 nothing but you seem to say the same old shit. Maybe its just me as ive got the arse. blimey , lets talk about wheels then . Will chrome spinners suit it !!!!!!!!
Guest MK1gaz Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 lets talk about how great you are Yes let's . I've done the job with the heavy comfy escort and now i'm gonna do it with a featherweight , slick shod old cortina with a bit of "spray" in bhp for good measure . 11's here i come
pauln Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Come on give Gaz a chance to do something different. The pinto may not be my first (or second) choice of engines but it has gone in many a mk1 or 2 cortina. My personal favorite of pinto engined Cortinas is still Ratmans though (a pretty high bar i think). PS might as well turbo otherwise part of that £390 was wasted on the pistons.

Guest MK1gaz Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 isnt that cheating though? Yes i think so but not according to the vast majority on here it's not

Going to try and go into the 11's or faster the cheapest way possible . This is always going to be with a pinto based engine cos they fit easy and all the bits bolt straight to them . Not sure wiether i need the extra expense of a turbos shell fabriciation + uprating + atlas axles etc etc .

Or do you have a rack already fitted?
