in the anglia i want to re-locate my battery to either the back seats or in the boot

 

now if i mount it in the back seat does it have to be within a box

 

if i move it to the boot the petrol tank will also be in the boot, do i need it in a box?

 

 

 

just the boxes seem to cost an arm and a leg

Ive seen alot of escorts with the battery in the boot and its not very often they're in a box, so i guess you dont have to?

It doesn't need to be in a box mate.... Can put it in one if you can to make it look pretty...

 

My Escort doesnt have the battery in a boot.. and thats an MSA approved rally car... so i dont see why you would need one on the road..

i just wondered if i had the fuel tank in the boot would it have to have the electricals covered in case of spark,

 

might just strap it down and stick a bling cover on it

in the boot with a firewall of some description would be fine without a box sam but if its in the passenger compartment i would imagine it will need to be in a box i beleive that at shakey they scrutineer along those lines anyway

the fibreglass ones are available from most boat places and a bit cheaper than that too

Yeah sorry you need a firewall in there (i assumed u would have one in there anyway BUT as Twinkle says... if its going inside u need a box...

If you decide to just mount it in the open then you might find that your new escort has a plastic battery cover that is ideal Sam. That assuming someone hasnt pinched it already

i think it does as i went to see if the brand new battery i got for the fiesta would fit it but there was a cover in my way

it doesn't have to be in a box if its inside the car for shakey. mine is behind the passanger seat on an alloy battuary tray and they never said any thing about it at shakey

Sam you can have the battery in the boot without it being in a box if you have a firewall.

if the battery is in the passenger compartment and it's a wet cell battery it must be in a box.

the only battery you can have inside the passenger compartment not in a box is a dry cell battery
